LG Is Bringing GeForce NOW to WebOS Smart OS TVs

Nvidia’s GeForce Now is a cloud-based PC gaming service that allows users to stream games from Nvidia graphics cards. In addition, the streaming platform uses AI technology to optimize how games are played based on opponent team compositions and player skill levels.

LG is delivering GeForce NOW to a limited number of WebOS Smart TVs. It is the first television maker to provide a game streaming service. The beta software will not have all of the capabilities present on the PC or the NVIDIA Shield, but it will provide access to more than 35 free-to-play games as well as the option to connect to other shops. Up to 1080p 60 FPS SDR broadcasting is supported by the app.

Many of the world’s most popular games are included in the portfolio, including 35+ free-to-play titles including Fortnite, Apex Legends, Destiny 2, and others. Never wait for downloads, installations, patches, or updates while playing with and against millions of other PC gamers at up to 1080p 60 FPS.

The app menu can only be navigated with a real keyboard and mouse. Most console, PC, and third-party gamepads, including Bluetooth ones, are compatible for gaming. The audio output is restricted to stereo.

REQUIREMENTS FOR TELEVISION

Certain LG TVs from 2021 with the newest LG TV browser upgrade and the autumn 2021 webOS software update. On LG TVs, GeForce NOW is presently in beta.

GAMEPADS

To play games on LG TVs, you must need a compatible gamepad. The program can only be navigated with a real keyboard and mouse.

Bluetooth is used to connect the NVIDIA SHIELD controller. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE INTERNET

For 720p at 60 frames per second, GeForce NOW needs at least 15Mbps, and for 1080p at 60 frames per second, 25Mbps. We also need an NVIDIA data center with a latency of less than 80 milliseconds. A hardwired Ethernet connection or a 5GHz wireless router are also recommended. GeForce NOW should not be used with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi.

Note that LG TVs do not presently support GeForce NOW RTX 3080 membership features like as 120 frames per second, 4K, HDR streaming, and 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound.

SUPPORT FOR AUDIO

On LG TVs, we provide 2-channel stereo. Note that LG TVs do not support 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound, which is accessible with a GeForce NOW RTX 3080 subscription.
