ArcheAge is a sandbox, fantasy-themed MMORPG developed by XL Games. In the game, players create their own unique character and venture out into an open world with multiple factions to choose from. The MMO has been met with a very mixed reception, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth playing!
ArcheAge is a free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Korean developer, XLGAMES. It was released in the North American region on September 16th, 2013 and has since been released in other regions around the world. Its predecessor was an MMORPG called ArcheAge: Origins that was released in 2012. The game offers open PvP combat and a player versus environment system where players can choose to play as either a pirate or a merchant.

Delisting
On November 4th, 2021, Gamigo confirmed that ArcheAge and its 2019 re-release, ArcheAge: Unchained, will be delisted from Steam and the Glyph platform on December 1st, 2021. Gamigo and the Trion Worlds brand would pass up ownership of the game to Kakao Gaming, a subsidiary of South Korean internet services, social media, and games company Kakao.
After 7 years of ArcheAge and 2 years of ArcheAge: Unchained, we’re excited to announce that the brand will be moving to a new publisher in December.
gamigo games and its connected subsidiaries will no longer be in control of or engaged with any live ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained operations. All rights and responsibilities will be handled completely by the new publisher Kakao Games.
But don’t worry, all of your belongings will be moved! And anything you buy while our stores are open will be transferred, along with all of your characters.
We understand that the news has left you with many unanswered questions. To the best of our ability, we will respond to all of them.
Announcement of the Steam Store
Gamigo discontinued selling in-game purchases in the Steam and Glyph versions of the games on November 18th, 2021, and provided a concise timetable of events for the future weeks. They also stated that players’ characters and equipment will be transferable to the Kakao Games version of ArcheAge for a six-month period, concluding in June 2022.
The Glyph Store, Eden Reforestation Packs, Steam Deals, and Marketplace in-game are no longer accessible, as per the timetable. Keep in mind that CS Support for game queries will be shut off as of today. In addition, the ArcheAge: Unchained Free Trial expires. The game data transfer is in progress and should be finished shortly! Your transfer code may be found in Glyph’s account area. You will have access to it for six (6) months. On November 19, Kakao Games’ transfer website will launch.

Announcement of the Steam Store
The North American, European, and Oceania territories of the ArcheAge publication deal between XL Games and Gamigo expires on December 1st, 2021. Due to Gamigo’s apparent unwillingness to renew, Kakao Games inked a publishing arrangement with Gamigo to maintain service in these territories, resulting in this move. Kakao Games’ FAQ revealed, among other things, that both versions of the game will be released separately and that servers would be accessible in both North America and Europe.

It contains the same material and updates as ArcheAge, but it includes an unique monetization strategy in which players purchase one of three packs for one payment up front, eliminating the need for a subscription and thus making everyone in Unchained a Patron. The Marketplace no longer provides gameplay benefits and is now just aesthetic. Archepass was introduced, which is comparable to the Battlepass that is available for numerous games. There are two pathways, similar to previous Battlepass systems, that use a tier system. One is the fundamental free route, which contains all previously discussed pay-to-win things. The other is a premium route where you may buy cosmetics. Because this is a standalone game, there are no characters or stuff from ArcheAge to bring over; it’s a fresh start.
