The original Prey is the latest movie in the franchise to hit Hulu. The sci-fi film series was developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda, with production officially beginning in 2017.

On Disney+ Day, a new Predator film was unveiled. Prey, the prequel, will premiere on Hulu in the United States and Disney Plus Star in other countries in summer 2022. It begins in 1719 with a hunter arriving in the Comanche Nation. As she seeks to safeguard her people, a young warrior will face off against the apex alien. It is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane) and produced by Sundance graduates Jhane Myers, with a screenplay by Patrick Aison (Kingdom, Jack Ryan, and Treadstone). Naru, the primary character, is performed by Amber Midthunder.
The Predator will be pitted against the Comanche Nation 300 years ago in the film. Naru is a talented warrior who courageously defends her tribe against a highly advanced alien predator in this action-thriller. The gigantic hunter stalks Naru through a foggy, icy woodland in the concept image below.

The film was being made under the pseudonym “Skulls.” As the movie’s production in Calgary came to a close, director of photography Jeff Cutter (10 Cloverfield Lane, Paul) took to social media to express his gratitude to the team. It’s worth mentioning that the director, DOP, and screenplay collaborated on many episodes of Amazon Prime’s season 3 of The Boys.
20th Century Studios looks to be seeking to return the series to its beginnings. It follows the critically panned The Predator from 2018.
