Pokémon is one of the most popular video games in the world. It has been around for over 25 years and has spawned a whole franchise. The series has caught fire with its latest installment, Pokémon Go, which is now available on iOS and Android devices.
The best looking shiny pokémon is a term that people use when they are talking about the most beautiful and shiny legendary Pokémon. This list ranks the best-looking shiny legendary Pokémon in the game.
Legendaries are, by definition, uncommon.
But do you know what’s even more uncommon? Pokémon with a lot of gleam.
Do you know what’s even more uncommon? Legendaries with a gleam.
There is no way to increase your chances of discovering a gleaming legendary Pokémon. You have no choice but to keep resetting in the hopes of getting that 1 in 8,192 chance.
Even with such slim chances, there are certain legendaries that are just impossible to get as a shine!
Even if we’re unlikely to capture those particular Pokémon, I believe it’d be interesting to observe which shiny legendaries stick out the most. So these are the greatest shiny legendary Pokémon ever created, in my view!
Note that Mythical Pokémon and Ultra Beasts are not included.
20. Ho-oh
The character Ho-oh is supposed to be a phoenix.
Its colorful wings are supposed to resemble a rainbow, which represents fresh life and rebirth.
While I appreciate the rainbow as a symbol of life beginning again, I believe Ho-shine oh’s conveys the concept of a phoenix better.
Its beak and tail feathers are all an ashy grey, and its wings are more orange and red than red and green.
Ho-oh actually emerged from the ashes, as a result of this.
Both designs are fantastic, however I believe the glossy shape better reflects the spirit of Ho-oh.
Latios, number 19
Both of the Latis have always been favorites of mine, but Latios has always been my fave.
The fact that it resembles a jet and has a ferocious determined squint has always reminded me of Tom Cruise in Top Gun.
No, I’m not going to go into detail about it.
Latios’ shine is an excellent example of a simple color change that turned out wonderfully.
Latios is now a beautiful turquoise hue instead of its normal deep blue. This not only meets its requirement for speed, but it also distinguishes it from the competition.
How many turquoise Pokémon can you think of?
Latios with a gleaming sheen look great. And, although discovering it requires a bit more effort than other methods, I believe it is well worth the effort.
Solgaleo (number 18)
I’m not going to lie, I think sparkly Solgaleo is funny.
All of the fascinating features of what was once a magnificent lion-mech with the power of the sun have been wiped away by turning everything bright red.
Normally, I’d attempt to convince you that this was intended to depict the sun’s scorching heat.
They did the same thing with Lunala, the moon’s representative.
In any case, shiny Solgaleo is a Pokémon that will be remembered for a long time.
Cresselia is number seventeen.
Cresselia has always seemed to be alien to Earth.
The rings that encircle it, as well as its crescent-shaped head, have long emitted a heavenly vibe.
That seems to have been more realized with its gleaming shape.
Shiny Cresselia’s blue skiing and pink rings have been altered to a dark purple and brilliant blue, respectively, giving it a considerably more alien appearance.
It’s almost as though shiny Cresselia is a whole solar system contained inside a single Pokémon! I can’t help but think Neil Degrasse Tyson would be enthralled by this.
Yveltal, no. 16
Yveltal is precisely what the first half of name implies: it is wicked.
What could be more sinister than red and black?
I’ll tell you what they are: red and white.
Shiny Yveltal is no longer a shadowy monster. It’s pleading with you to look at it.
It will not only drain your life energy, but it will also feed off your fear.
When the gleaming Yveltal is nearby, there is no hope. Despair is all there is.
…
Oh my my, it became very dark! Sorry, I’ll return to my topic of ridiculous video game monsters.
15. Entei
Entei is without a doubt my favorite legendary beast.
It’s always had a nobler appearance than Raikou and Suicune. Plus, in the third Pokémon film, it really made me weep.
Its gleaming shape completes the picture.
Not only is Entei’s fur darkened, but his crimson mask has been replaced with a black one. This may reduce Entei’s aggressiveness a little, but it makes the Volcano Pokémon seem more smarter.
This isn’t a live volcano that will explode in your face right now. No, the gleaming Entei is a dormant volcano with raging fires buried inside.
Regirock (n.d.)
Legendary giants are another fantastic category of legendary Pokémon.
Regice and Registeel were intriguing when they were first presented, but Regirock seemed to be uninteresting.
It claimed to be rock, although it seemed to be constructed of styrofoam and papier mâché.
Regirock’s shine altered everything.
The glossy version is mostly dark brown with orange highlights, rather than tan/white with red spots and shoulders.
Regirock seems to be an old Pokémon that has been shaped by tectonic pressure over many years.
Regirock used to resemble a science fair project for middle school students. It now has the appearance of an old giant.
Lunala (age 13)
I originally said in my Solgaleo section that Lunala’s red coloration was illogical.
But it occurred to me while I was writing this.
Lunala is the Moone Pokémon, pronounced with an additional “e” for some reason.
Moons come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
There are three types of moons: harvest, blue, and blood.
The crimson moon is the gleaming Lunala. That’s why it’s all red and frightening at the same time!
My discovery elicited such ecstasy in me that I had to include it on this list. Dawn Wings Necrozma, I apologize.
Reshiram is number twelve.
Many of the Pokémon on this list are here because of their new bright colors, although Reshiram isn’t one among them.
Reshiram’s alterations are very modest, but quite powerful.
To begin with, shiny Reshiram has been transformed into a brighter white, which is ideal for Pokémon Black and White.
Second, gold rings are placed around Reshiram’s neck and tail.
This is a wonderful small touch that really adds to the heavenly sense of the piece. In fact, I think this gleam is simply divine.
Spectrier, no. 11
Spectrier’s design is fantastic.
When your hooves aren’t connected to your body, being mostly black with purple accents is a great method to communicate that you’re a Ghost-type Pokémon.
But for some reason, I like its gleaming!
The only difference is that all of the purple has been replaced to a maroon color.
This not only maintains the ethereal effect, but the warmer reddish hue also complements Spectrier’s incredible speed.
What’s more, how many other maroon Pokémon exist?
Rayquaza is number ten.
As I’ve said in previous lists, black looks fantastic with either red or gold.
So why not combine all three on a Pokémon?
Because the red and gold are barely visible, Shiny Rayquaza pulls it off flawlessly.
The ends of the fins and the mouth are highlighted in red, while the sleek circular pattern is highlighted in gold.
While they would usually blend in with Rayquaza’s green body, the black makes these design features stand out.
Rayquaza has already established himself as a cool character.
Rayquaza’s gleaming sheen is just stunning.
9. Zapdos the Galarian
I was instantly attracted to Galarian Zapdos when the Galarian legendary birds were first presented.
We received a very cool road runner that didn’t have the many heads gimmick.
The only way I could adore it more was if the colors were still those of the original Zapdos.
That’s precisely what we received with its gleaming appearance.
Bright yellow and orange replace the red-brown feathers and black legs of the gleaming Galarian Zapdos.
This color scheme not only better depicts Galarian Zapdos’ speed and strength than the previous one, but it also pays tribute to one of my favorite legendaries of all time.
Kyogre the Primal
The first time I spoke about flashy Primal Kyogre, I said how its dark coloration and brilliant highlights really reflect the deep depths of the sea.
It really demonstrated how old and strong it was, while also evoking the millennia of knowledge that lie under the waves.
But did you notice anything I left out?
Those toes!
They’re a vivid purple color, and I’m not sure why.
However, I adore it. And it is deserving of a spot on our list.
Zygarde is number seven (All Forms)
For this post, I’m adding all of the various types of Zygarde since they all have the same effect and are effective.
The black has been replaced with white, and the vivid green has been softened somewhat.
It’s almost as though the ordinary Zygarde forms represent the original Xbox, while the glossy variants represent the Xbox 360.
And we can all agree that they are much superior than the original.
6. Tapus Tapus Tapus Tapus Tapus Tapus Tap
In the same way that I chose all versions of Zygarde, I’m going to include all of the Tapus on this list.
They’re all distinct Pokémon, I understand. However, I feel comfortable adding them since their gleaming motif is identical:
The primary color of each has been totally blacked out.
Because they’re supposed to appear like ancient heads on a totem pole, turning them completely black makes them seem more older.
It’s almost as if they were destroyed in a fire and then resurrected for display in a museum.
Furthermore, using brighter colors on black is usually a fantastic idea!
5. Kyogre
Remember how I mentioned Primal Kyogre’s purple nails earlier?
This is multiplied by four for Kyogre, who has a vivid purple body.
Does this help the red elements on the shirt stand out more? No.
Is that a better representation of what Kyogre is all about? No, as well.
But am I a fan of vivid purple? Yes!!
There’s no logical explanation why I’m so fond of sparkly Kyogre.
It’s simply a very entertaining design decision that stands out right away.
Articuno, the Galarian
Galarian Articuno’s shine, like Galarian Zapdos before it, pays homage to the original Articuno with its icy blue and white color scheme.
While the color combination is stunning, the reason I like this shiny is because it totally transforms Galarian Articuno’s demeanor.
The “Cruel Pokémon” is the Galarian Articuno’s species. And it irritates me much.
However, its natural purple and black colors complement it, particularly with its mask-like eyes.
When that dark is replaced with white, though, it becomes much more benign. It isn’t blatantly kind to everyone, but it is considerate.
This makes Galarian Articuno a lot more appealing to me.
A gleaming Galarian Articuno is no longer a tyrannical Psychic. It’s the kind of polite ice king I’ve always wished for.
3. Moltres Galarian
Shiny Galarian Moltres is at the top of this list not just because it looks great (which it does), but because it looks better than any other Moltres variant.
OG Moltres had the appearance of a bird that had been put on fire.
Galarian Moltres seems to be a more attractive variant of Yveltal.
Shiny Galarian Moltres, on the other hand, looks precisely like what Moltres is meant to be: a Pokémon that paints the night sky crimson when it flaps its wings.
It’s untamed, terrifying, and difficult to manage. As if it were a flame. And I really adore it!
2. Groudon Primal
Primal Groudon is perhaps my all-time favorite shiny Pokémon.
The dark coloration highlights the magma under its skin while also highlighting the essence of Primal Groudon.
Not only that, but it seems to be very frightening.
Imagine living in Sootopolis and suddenly seeing this massive volcanic monster emerge from beyond the city gates. That’s a lot of Attack on Titan dread.
One of my favorite shiny Pokémon designs is Primal Groudon.
But there’s one more legendary Pokémon whose gleam perfectly encompasses everything.
1. Giratina in a New Light
There are many legendary Pokémon that seem to be frightening or dangerous.
But there’s only one gleaming Pokémon that makes me nervous: Giratina.
Giratina’s broken wings and crimson and yellow colors already give it a sinister appearance.
However, its gleaming appearance seems to be very frightening.
The color scheme is bizarre, with sky blue, silver, and light orange covering the majority of the body.
When you combine this with its black wings, you have a Pokémon that seems to belong in the Distortion World.
Shiny Giratina is unmistakably Lovecraftian, and unlike anything else seen in a Pokémon before or after.
